Scoliosis Support & Research is proud to release our brand new documentary short, Living with Scoliosis — a powerful and deeply personal film exploring what it truly means to live with scoliosis.

Following a successful premiere at London’s Playground Theatre on Tuesday 28th October, the film is now available to watch online via our YouTube channel and through the SSR website.

About the Film

Living with Scoliosis shares the stories of five remarkable individuals — Eli Yeung, Lynne Hutchison, Katie Krzyzanowski, Amelia Black, and Louise Coigley — each from different walks of life but united by the shared experience of scoliosis.

Through honest conversations and real-life reflections, the film captures both the challenges and triumphs of living with a spinal curvature condition that affects over two million people in the UK.

A Message from the Director

Directed by Georgia Kelly and produced by Claudia Kaye, Living with Scoliosis was created with a clear purpose: to raise awareness, promote understanding, and strengthen community connections.

“It was an honour to bring this film to life and highlight the diversity and complexity of scoliosis,” said Georgia Kelly, Director of Living with Scoliosis. “From inception, it was so important for us to tell real people’s stories with honesty and respect. Our incredible team and featured participants made this possible! I hope that the documentary not only raises awareness about what scoliosis is, but also helps build a stronger sense of community and connection for those living with it.”

A Voice for the Community

For SSR, this project represents a significant step in sharing the voices of people who live with scoliosis every day.

“We’re incredibly proud to share Living with Scoliosis with the world,” said Lesley McGinty, Chief Executive of Scoliosis Support & Research. “This unique and personal film represents our community — their resilience, honesty, and strength. We hope it not only connects with those living with scoliosis but also helps the wider public truly understand what it means to live with this condition.”

Raising Awareness and Building Connection

Beyond the individual stories, Living with Scoliosis is a celebration of community — showing that no one with scoliosis is alone. The film will also serve as an important awareness and education tool for schools, healthcare professionals, and community groups across the UK.
