📅 14 June 2026
Walk Together is our biggest Step for Scoliosis event yet. We’re bringing people together in towns and cities across the UK for a shared moment of awareness, connection, and support.
Taking place during Scoliosis Awareness Month, this event is about visibility, community, and showing that no one has to face scoliosis alone.
This is not a race or a challenge event.
It’s an opportunity to come together in your local area and be part of something nationwide.
What is Walk Together?
On one day, at the same time, communities across the UK will come together for volunteer-led walks in local parks and coffee shop hubs.
You can:
-
Walk 5K or 10K
-
Come along to meet others and cheer from the meeting point
-
Join us for a coffee and community catch-up
-
Support friends, family, and fellow walkers
You don’t even need to walk to take part. Everyone is welcome.
Distances & Routes
👣 5K – one loop
👣 10K – two loops
Routes are:
-
Loop-based
-
Designed to be accessible
-
Based in local parks or around coffee shop meeting points
The looped format means you can:
-
Walk at your own pace
-
Stop after one loop if needed
-
Stay at the meeting point to support and socialise
This event is about participation, not performance.
Community-Led Events Across the UK
All Walk Together events are led by our official SSR volunteers, helping to create welcoming, local meet-ups in communities across the country.
Each location will have:
-
A clear meeting point
-
A simple looped route
-
Time to connect before and after the walk
Our aim is to make this feel like a local community meet-up, not a formal race.
Why June Matters
June is Scoliosis Awareness Month, and Walk Together exists to mark it in a visible, meaningful way.
By walking or simply showing up, you’re helping to:
-
Raise awareness of scoliosis
-
Build local connections
-
Show support for people living with scoliosis
-
Create a national moment of visibility
When communities across the UK step out together on the same day, it sends a powerful message.
Fundraising (Optional, but Impactful)
Fundraising is not required to take part, but if you’re able to, it’s a brilliant way to increase the impact of your steps.
By fundraising, you’ll be helping to:
-
Support people living with scoliosis
-
Fund awareness, education, and community initiatives
-
Ensure events like Walk Together can continue and grow
We’ll provide simple fundraising guidance and ideas after you sign up.
